Debra Medina is a refreshing, REAL Texan who will represent the majority of honest, hard-working Texans who still believe in this great state!

She definitely has our support! Go all the way to the Governor's office in 2010!!! God Bless Texas!

Howdy All:

Here's a comment from a friend you should read and my response below:

"Are you sure?! Her use of the word "nullification" raised eyebrows as it reminescent of bigotry not so long forgotten. Please see CNN and MSNBC news coverage of Debbie Medina's debate and look a little deeper into her background and views. We may just be jumping into the fire on this one.

Curious as to why your endorsement came before the Dems got to debate."

Dear Friend:

When we polled our members we asked them in which party primary (you have to choose one or the other in Texas), it seemed clear to them that Bill White is going to be the Democratic nominee, so there's no great contest there -- not to disparage Mr. Shami. The "action" is on the Republican side and, as you know, independents have a big bone to pick with the Governor as outlined in the piece we put out below and at the BootPerry.org. This is our first crack at Rick Perry's defeat. It's pretty clear that Medina is in a good position to force a run-off with either herself and Perry or Kay and Perry.

The Republican Party wants to define tea partyism to support their axe grinding. But more than anything, the tea party movement is an anti-incumbent movement. You would find agreement and disagreement with nullification - and a lot of confusion. What could unite them is the call for political reform and an end to two-party monopolization of our political process.

We should start in Texas with redistricting reform as that battle is upon us -- again -- just after the census. Rick and Kay's fight is too partisan and too intra-Republican Party for much of the tea party movement AND the vast majority of independent non-aligned voters.

Our (Independent Texans') endorsement will open up again after the primary between White and whomever gets the Republican nomination.

Hope that helps. Linda Curtis, Independent Texans

I have heard this old , tired , argument so many times before .Vote for the best caandidate ! compromise is what has brought us to where we are today . Kay sold out America and Texans , when she had the funding removed from the immigration bill that was passed by the congress and signed into law by Bush. The plan was supposed to remain un-detcted until the beans were spilled by the press .
We support Medina - with our money and our vote .

Medina could win the election just with the numbers you present here alone, so don't let anyone tell you she can't win. Perry won the election in 2006 with less than 2 million votes. 60% of 5M is 3M. And that's just independents! Add up the Ds, Rs and Ls who will vote for her and you've got a landslide victory! Go Medina!!!!!

Kevin Crouch just uploaded a video blog to YouTube discussing why he resigned from the Rick Perry campaign and is now supporting Debra Medina!

I like her slogan "We Texans" People are tired of behind the scenes controls and manipulations. Contact friends and relatives and tell them 'You DO have power as One person, but you have to vote for what you believe is right....Not vote out of fear!" Stand up and be counted; we still run this country, BUT only IF we vote for Freedom and Truth and Equality.

Your vote splitting argument, in this case, doesn't hold water because, fortunately, we have a runoff in the primaries, so Rick can't sail in with 39% like he did in the 2006 general election. Medina, if anything, will force a runoff, which she will either be in or not. Thanks for commenting!

If we want anyone but Perry (and we do!), then why divide up the votes AGAIN (remember the last gubernatorial election) and so many others were the 2d and 3d place finishers had more votes than the winner?

Looks to me like Perry will get it again because we look for the best candidate (sure, a lofty goal), instead of making sure we support the most viable alternative politically. Kay has so much more name recognition. If Debra bowed out, maybe Kay could unseat Perry. If Debra continues to gain ground, we may as well ask Rick what style he'd like the mansion decorated in this time...
